Junior Dance Course
The aim of the Junior Dance Course is to produce a young dancer who has an excellent foundation in classical ballet with a sound understanding of posture, placement and alignment. We strive to enable each pupil to develop a strong technique alongside an understanding of artistry and performance.
It is vital that children have performing opportunities and learn to develop their own sense of creativity and choreography. The Young Dancers Show takes place in the Summer Term and gives pupils the opportunity to perform in our own Markova Theatre. Additionally, pupils are encouraged to enter the Junior Choreography Competition that takes place at the end of the Summer Term to encourage them to develop their creative skills.
Twice a year pupils are formally assessed in Classical Ballet and Modern Dance, and teachers give one-to-one feedback and support to their pupils. Additionally, each pupil has an annual meeting with the Director of Dance and their teacher, to assess progress and development and begin to plan future pathways.
Ballet Company connections
Tring Park has a long association with English National Ballet Company and has been supplying young dancers for many of their productions and annually, the Nutcracker at the London Coliseum (choreographer Wayne Eagling pictured with Lowri and Rowan Shone in rehearsal in Tring Park's Park Studios.)
Pupils who require more one-to-one support can request additional private lessons in Pilates and Alexander Technique.
