How to Make a Legacy //

Making a Will is the only way you can be sure your wishes will be followed after you die. If you don't make one, your estate may not go to the people you intended to benefit. In addition, Inheritance Tax legislation means that, if you don't prepare properly, a substantial part of what you leave may go to the State.

Making a Will is quick and inexpensive, however it is an important document and so we strongly advise you to consult a solicitor for clear advice and to ensure it is properly drafted and includes all your wishes. If you have already drawn up a Will, and you have subsequently decided to leave a legacy to Tring Park School, the simplest way to add this instruction is to complete a Codicil.

A Codicil contains supplementary instructions to an earlier drafted Will. It is drawn up and witnessed in exactly the same way as a Will preventing you from having to have a fresh Will redrafted.

Choosing a legacy type

There are three main legacy types to consider:

If you decide to leave a gift to Tring Park School in your Will, we would be grateful if you would let us know your intentions by completing the Legacy Pledge Form. This is not a requirement but would assist the School in its long term financial planning and provides the opportunity for us to thank you personally for your proposed support.

Alternatively if you would like to discuss your intentions or have any queries regarding supporting the School please contact Jane Foy on +44 (0) 1442 821662 or complete the enquiry section of the Legacy Pledge Form to be contacted.
