Non-UK/EAL Pupils

The Good Schools Guide.jpg

Tring Park School is extremely proud of its international character. We embrace pupils from all countries and believe that the rich cultural diversity of our overseas pupils provides a great opportunity for pupils and staff alike to learn about cultural differences.

Pupils from around the world live together in boarding houses and share all aspects of school life, which provides a valuable learning experience. Many of our non UK/EAL pupils receive specialised English language tuition from the EAL Department, who provide language support.

Alongside educational support, we have a special interest in the pastoral care of all overseas pupils and aim to help them to settle happily and smoothly into their new environment, assisting other members of staff in monitoring their welfare.

We aim to promote inter-cultural awareness and understanding. We are sensitive to the special challenges faced by youngsters arriving for the first time in a new school in a foreign land where they are expected to operate in a second language.

Our teachers, houseparents and staff will do everything they can to make all its non-UK/EAL pupils feel welcome and at home.
