Encore! The Dancers' Company are delighted that their forthcoming show - Encore! - is to be performed on Friday 1st June at 11.00am and 5.00pm in the Markova Theatre. This new show is a fundraising event for a new charity Dance Again that was formed by the Widdowson family following the successful rehabilitation of former Tring Park dance graduate, Jack Widdowson. Jack was attacked and badly injured in November 2011 but has made a remarkable recovery and the charity aims to give injured dancers immediate access to high quality medical care.
Encore! will feature a newly created work choreographed by Jack Widdowson made especially for the Dancer’s Company. There will be a premier of a dance from Tring Park choreographers Terry Wright and Lorraine Jones for the male dancers, and excerpts from the beautiful and haunting ‘Stabat Mater’ choreographed by Robert Cohan for the female dancers and a Classical Pas de Deux.
Tickets will be £3 for students and £5 for adults and any further donations to the charity will be most welcome.
Junior dancers from across the School perform in this highly entertaining annual show.Pieces include Piano Concerto with choreography by Jeremy Kerridge and music by Gershwin, Back to the Boogie, choregraphed by Rachel Lane with music by the Jackson 5 and Hollywood mon amour..........an original concept by Ruth K Armstrong and Jeremy Kerridge with music by Ludovic Bource - Exceprts from 'The Artist'. Second from Last in the Sack RaceSet between 1935 and 1953, Second from Last in the Sack Race is Michael Birch's wry stage adaptation of David Nobbs's northern rites-of-passage novel. It traces the oft-troubled childhood of Henry Pratt, a boy almost as unfortunate as his surname, but as resilient as the British in the war years that form the centrepiece of an episodic, yet smooth-flowing show stuffed with humour, pathos and nuggety northern nous.
Performances at the Markova Theatre on Friday 15 June at 2.30 & 7.30 and Saturday 16 June at 7.30pm
To book go to What's on or Tel. 01442 821516.
An Evening of Wine, Song and Dance includes a performance arranged and choreographed specially for the evening and performed by past and present students, dinner and a fundraising auction hosted by Al Murray - 'The Pub Landlord'. The evening will provide a fantastic opportunity for Tring Park students to work with Drew McOnie - a Tring Park Alumnus and rising star in the world of Dance.
To make the event as successful as possible the School is seeking some exceptional auction items. If you are able to donate please complete the Prize Donation Form.
