Audition Information

Audition Schedule

  1. Candidates must be prepared to take part in a drama workshop/movement class audition with their fellow auditionees.
  2. Two contrasting drama pieces to be given from memory, of no more than two minutes long each. One piece written before 1790 and one piece written and set after 1890.  They must be taken from published plays (i.e. not film scripts)
  3. A short informal interview with the Director of Drama discussing future career plans, and performing experience, hobbies or skills, musical/singing ability, A-Level choices and anything pertinent to the application, workshop or monologue choices.

Educational Test

All candidates will sit an academic assessment. The academic part of the audition involves a computerised verbal and non-verbal reasoning test followed by a 10- minute writing test from which we can identify very quickly if a candidate has difficulties with handwriting speed, spelling or grammar.

Clothing

Candidates are advised to wear comfortable clothes.

Apply

All candidates are required to attend an entrance audition for the school. These are held in the autumn and Spring Term each year. Suitability for a place is determined on talent and potential shown at the time of audition.

Final auditions take place in February or March of each year and successful candidates are offered places to start in the following September.
