Juniors Achieve Functional Skills Qualifications
Congratulations to the groups of 1st and 2nd Formers who have successfully achieved their Functional Skills Qualification for ICT! The awards are designed to test the pupil's abilities to use ICT within a real-world scenario; they demand problem solving, research and interpretation.
14 pupils from 1st Form successfully achieved the Level 1 qualification, which required them to create an information sheet on behalf of a motorcycle driving school. The document detailed what candidates could expect on the day of their test and what happens during bad weather. This required them to research the information, produce a professional document for a mature audience and then email this across to their 'client'.
Meanwhile, 18 2nd Formers achieved the Level 2 qualification, with many of them upgrading their Level 1 certification from last year. The class were required to create a Powerpoint presentation on electrical gadgets, including information on colour and price. This, again, required extensive Internet research as well as the ability to display their work in a professional manner.
The 3rd Formers will be hoping to repeat the successes of their younger counterparts in their CLAiT assessments, which are now close to completion. Good luck to all those involved!
