The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

The London Theatre Company by special arrangement with Elliott and Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, has brought the much-celebrated Leeds Playhouse production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to the Bridge Theatre in London, and we are going to see it.

The Bridge Theatre have made fascinating  films about the processes involved bringing this production to life. Here is a link to them as well as to the trailer

This iconic CS Lewis story explores a mythical world in conflict.  With the early scenes telling the evacuation story of the Pevensie children.  This will be a powerful tool to help our pupils relate to this really significant era of modern history, 2019 being the 80 anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War.  So many RS, PSHE and History themes abound; the influence of deep Christian faith of the author is apparent throughout.

No doubt the English and Acting  Department will also be interested to quiz the pupils about how you bring text alive. Then there are all the elements of the production design. It will also be a pleasure to see alumni Stuart Neal in the cast who has been one of our speakers on Founders Day.

Unsurprisingly, there is a real buzz in the air about this trip!
