The Dance Course
Classical Ballet is at the heart of the training and education our students receive on the dance course. Led by a first-class faculty, the philosophy of the department is to produce versatile, artistic and technically accomplished dancers who show versatility in an ever-changing dance industry. Our unique, rounded curriculum results in dancers who are known for their excellence in multiple genres; Tring Park dancers gain employment in all disciplines of the industry.
The dance course covers classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and commercial dance. While pupils may take formal examinations as part of the dance course, they are also offered a wide range of performance opportunities, and can take workshops with visiting guest artists. Annual performances also take place at the school’s own Markova Theatre and at external venues. During the third year of graduate training, dancers join Encore Dance Company under the artistic direction of Antony Dowson (former Principal dancer Royal Ballet Company) and have the opportunity to work with internationally known guest professional choreographers. This important final year gives the opportunities for those chosen by choreographers to perform classical repertoire as well as having work created especially for them.
Past students and graduates of Tring Park can be seen in major national and international companies, across many West End shows, in multiple contemporary companies, running their own dance companies, as world-class choreographers including:
