Tring Park School is looking to appoint an experienced part-time security worker, to work part-time evening/nights.

The successful applicant will responsible for patrolling the site, and will be confident and able to think and act quickly, as well as have the ability to work alone/unsupervised and as part of a team. The hours are Monday – Friday, 5pm to 2am, alternate weeks with the Security Officer. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and we may appoint before the closing date.

Main Duties

Some cover for holidays and sickness may be needed. Occasional extra hours are required when special events take place. Annual holiday: 5.6 weeks per annum pro rata.

  • Monitoring CCTV cameras and acting upon all suspicious incidents.
  • Patrolling School grounds at regular intervals, checking all buildings are secure in line with school policy.
  • Reporting on all incidents to relevant personnel as necessary.
  • Being aware of activities of the school throughout the shift & monitoring as necessary.
  • Undertaking all duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Estate Services Manager.
  • Upholding the School’s safeguarding policies and processes

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experienced in the operation of CCTV surveillance systems.
  • To be confident in all situations and able to think quickly and sensibly in the event of a difficult situation.
  • To be able to liaise clearly with other members of the school staff, i.e. Pastoral Department.
  • To be responsible, reliable & trustworthy.
  • Confident to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • Show a clear commitment to implementing whole school/staff policies relating to the safeguarding of children.
