We are looking to appoint an experienced part-time security worker to join Tring Park School.

Tring Park School for the Performing Arts is one of the UK’s leading vocational and academic schools, situated in glorious countryside just half an hour from London. About the role

The successful candidate will be required to work 9.5 hours per night from Monday to Friday on alternate weeks from 4.30pm to 2am. They will be responsible for patrolling the site and will be confident and able to think and act quickly, as well as have the ability to work alone and unsupervised as part of a team. Some cover for holidays and sickness may be needed and there will be occasional extra hours when special events take place.

Main Duties

  • Monitoring CCTV Cameras and acting upon all suspicious incidents.
  • Patrolling School grounds at regular intervals, checking all buildings are secure in line with school policy.
  • Reporting on all incidents to relevant personnel as necessary.
  • Being aware of activities of the school throughout the shift & monitoring as necessary.
  • To undertake all duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Head of Estate Services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Must be confident in all situations and able to think quickly and sensibly in the event of a difficult situation.
  • To be able to liaise with other members of the school staff, i.e. Pastoral Department.
  • Responsible, reliable & trustworthy.
  • Be experienced in the operation of CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Confident to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • Show a clear commitment to implementing whole school/staff policies relating to the safeguarding of children.

Desirable

  • Experience of security work within an educational establishment
