We are looking to appoint a dance pianist to accompany our Saturday RAD vocational syllabus ballet classes.

About the role

The successful candidate will provide accompaniment for the RAD ballet classes, ranging from Intermediate to Advanced Two level, and the Solo Seal Award. Candidates should have a genuine passion for dance and music.

The hours are from 9am to 6pm, term time only (approx 24 Saturdays over the year) and the rate of pay is £33.05 per hour. Interviews will take place w/c 10th June 2024.

Main Duties

  • To play for classes as described above, working with Jenny Hale, Chief Examiner for the RAD.
  • To accompany termly exam sessions.
  • To rehearse repertoire solos for other RAD Awards as required.
  • To adhere to and promote all the school’s policies and procedures.
  • To attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.
  • To actively promote the well-being of all pupils and be familiar with, and uphold, all Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures of the school.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A good knowledge of all the RAD vocational syllabi.
  • Good sightreading skills.
  • Committed and reliable.
  • Clear commitment to implementing whole school/staff policies relating to the safeguarding of children.
  • Positive values and attitudes.
  • A commitment to equal opportunities and inclusion.

Desirable

  • Grade 8 piano
