The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Office Administrator to support our busy administration and finance teams in a full time position. The candidate is required all year round, NOT term-time only).

Tring Park is one of the country’s leading vocational and academic schools, situated in glorious countryside just half an hour from London. Working with 360 boarding and day pupils, aged 8 to 19, you will join a dedicated administration team to provide support to staff, pupils and parents.

Main Duties

Principal Accountabilities of the role, to be shared across the administration team:

  • Reception – To present the professional and welcoming contact point for Tring Park School to all visitors, staff, pupils and parents, ensuring that all visitors to the school are signed in and out accurately and are issued with an appropriate Visitor’s Badge
  • To provide Purchase Ledger support to the finance department
  • To manage queries from parents, pupils and external visitors, ensuring that any messages are immediately forwarded to the appropriate member of staff
  • To keep an overview of the school calendar and events so information can be passed onto parents and pupils as required, in an efficient and accurate manner


To undertake a range of general administrative duties i.e. –

  • Processing mail
  • Process school forms and pupil records using the schools data management system(s)
  • Co-ordinate stationery supplies
  • Data input of parent/pupil information using the schools management information systems
  • To administer the school’s theatre booking system and ticket sales
  • Assist with School visits and open days
  • Administrative support for the school’s associated & holiday courses administrative support for vocational and academic productions and trips and travel
  • Collate/arrange pupil travel arrangements for each holiday period for travel to and from school

Person Specification


The successful candidate will have strong IT and organisational skills, along with an understanding of general financial administration. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including GCSE English and Maths)
  • Experience of Purchase Ledger systems/processes
  • Good numeracy/literacy skills & competent computer skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office and IT systems
  • Experience of Reception duties including dealing with visitors
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and young people
  • Good organisational and time keeping skills
