Musical Theatre Overview

Tring Park's Musical Theatre Course provides Sixth Form students looking to forge a career in the performing arts with a strong understanding and knowledge of technique in the three essential specialist skills of Singing, Dancing and Acting.

The course is both contemporary and realistic, giving students the best possible chance of success as a versatile performer.
Regular collaboration with leading industry practitioners inspires students and encourages fresh thinking, as well as providing links with the industry both during and beyond their training.

Students from our Musical Theatre Course regularly take part in a programme of performances, workshops and master classes designed to build skills in every aspect of the profession.  Students perform in Tring Park's Markova Theatre, as well as a variety of venues across London and the UK.

Shows

Musical Theatre Course students have also worked on musicals which are performed both at Tring Park's own Markova Theatre and - annually - at professional London Theatres. Recent productions include Gershwin's musical comedy Crazy for You, The Boy Friend and most recently, Jesus Christ Superstar.  Students are directed by Steven Paling, formerly Resident Director of the hit musical, Mamma Mia! and currently the Associate Director of the international stadium tour of Batman the Musical.

Alumni

A selection of alumni currently achieving success include: Dani De Waal and Hannah Fairclough (leads in Mamma Mia! - Prince of Wales Theatre); Daniella Bowen (Million Dollar Quartet - Noel Coward Theatre); Georgie Ashford and Abiona Omonua (Legally Blonde - Savoy Theatre); Mary Cormack (Les Miserables - Queens Theatre); Cordelia Farnworth (Rock of Ages - Shaftesbury); Lily James – (Fast Girls - new film release) and Desdemona (Othello – Sheffield Crucible); Will Stokes (Hair – European Tour); Will Bozier and Lucy Martin (Mamma Mia!  - International Tour); Will Rogers (History Boys)  and Mary Fox (Oliver!  - UK Tour).
