Funding Information

The school offers Scholarships for the Performance Foundation, Musical Theatre, Acting and Commercial Music Courses and Music & Dance Scheme and Dance & Drama Awards for Dancers.

School Scholarships

The school offers a number of Scholarships each year for entry into the Lower School and for entry into the Upper School. These are open to new pupils, existing Prep Six pupils moving up to First Form and existing Fifth Form pupils entering the Lower Sixth Form. Scholarships will be awarded to those wishing to follow the following courses: Theatre Arts, Performance Foundation, Acting, Musical Theatre or Commercial Music.

All Scholarships awarded will be 10% of the termly fees in recognition of talent. In addition, a means tested bursary based on household income may be given. Parents of all candidates will be required to complete a Finance Form to be returned before the audition with supporting documentation.

Music & Dance Scheme Awards

These are Government assisted places for talented classical dancers of which the school normally has a small number to offer each year. We would usually offer these to eleven year olds but this can vary. Awards are not available for those whose family income is above £193,000 (First – Fifth Form), £205,000 (Sixth Form) if a Boarding place is required and £168,000 (First- Fifth Form), £183,000 (Sixth Form) for a Day place. These figures are the approximate current thresholds and may change for the next academic year. The parental contribution to the fees is determined by means testing on an annual basis, as dictated by the Government.

Some additional costs are also paid for by the scheme. Those invited for an audition for a Music and Dance Scheme award will be given further details at the time.

The MDS Funding Calculator is intended for guidance purposes for one aided pupil only. The final decision on the contribution required towards fees will be made by the school on receipt of the completed application form and relevant supporting documents using the latest DFE calculator. Dance and Drama Awards

The school offers a number of Dance Awards each year for pupils aged 16 going into the Sixth Form. Awards are not available for those whose family income is above £90,000. If offered an award, the amount of support for fees and maintenance received will be based on an assessment of family income. The income assessment will be undertaken by the school, using nationally set levels and guidance. Those reaching an audition for one of these awards will be given further details at the time.
