Set in early 17th-century England, this electrifying play asks: could Emilia have been the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets? Why was her own poetry ignored? What does it mean to write your identity into a world that refuses to listen? Through laughter, fury, song, and sisterhood, we move with Emilia, charting through her life as she fights to be seen, to be heard, and to write her way into memory.
Please note that the performance will last approximately two hours, plus a 15-minute interval. This is an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
